At Southern Oregon Camp Kiwanis, we strive to have a blend of typically developing kids along with campers - a practice called "integration" or "mainstreaming". These young people are also provided a fun camp experience in exchange for helping out as assistants or "peer counselors" to the campers.
Occasionally we get requests from young people with mobility impairments or disabilities, who would like to come to camp as a peer counselor rather than a camper.
To assist you in determining what the appropriate role is for you / your child, please study these guidelines to help you make your decision.
